THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA

About Us

SALAAM MUSLIM CEMETERY is a community burial ground at Nkoowe 2, Wakiso District, Uganda, established to give Muslim families a properly organised, permanently recorded and well maintained place to lay their loved ones to rest.

Our purpose

Salaam Muslim Cemetery is dedicated to serving the Muslim Ummah with a decent place of final rest, where the remains of our loved ones are treated with the utmost respect in accordance with the laws, regulations and values of Islam. The cemetery serves Muslims who follow the path of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah.

It is a body corporate registered under the laws of Uganda with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau and the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, and the land is dedicated exclusively to burial and activities that support that purpose.

The grounds are surveyed into clear sections, blocks and rows so that every grave has a unique number, a known location, and a permanent written record of who rests there — held today in a secure digital register with backups, and supported by community donations and Waqf endowments.

Our commitments

  • Every burial follows Islamic rites — Ghusl, Kafan, Janazah prayer and a grave facing the Qibla.
  • The sanctity and dignity of the cemetery is protected at all times.
  • Accurate, permanent records of every burial and grave location.
  • Financial transparency: a receipt for every payment and annual independent audits.
  • Perpetual care of the grounds, funded in part by the Permanent Maintenance Fund.
