Before you book a burial

Everything a family should have ready, set out plainly. Our officers will help you complete anything that is missing — please call the office first if time is short.

Who the cemetery serves

Muslims of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah — those who follow the teachings and practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Burials are conducted only between 8:00 am – 6:30 pm, seven days a week, and always in accordance with Islamic burial rites.

The three required documents

Document 1

Consent Form

Signed by the family or next of kin, consenting to burial at the cemetery.

  • Full name of the deceased, date of birth, date of death, place of death
  • Gender, marital status and address of the deceased
  • Name of the person giving consent and their relationship to the deceased
  • Address, phone number and email of the next of kin
  • Signature confirming the burial will follow Islamic rites and cemetery guidelines

Document 2

Bio Data Form for the Deceased

Registers the essential information kept permanently in the burial register.

  • Full name, date of birth, date of death
  • Place of residence and place of death
  • Gender, marital status and occupation
  • Cause of death (where applicable) and NIN number
  • Next of kin name, relationship, address, phone and email

Document 3

Imam Confirmation Letter

A letter from the Imam of the mosque the deceased hailed from, confirming their religious background and support for burial here.

  • Written on the mosque letterhead and addressed to the Cemetery Management Committee
  • Confirms the deceased was a Muslim and a member of the congregation
  • Includes the Imam's name, mosque, phone number and email

Fees and payment

  • Burial fees are payable in full before the burial takes place, unless a waiver is approved by cemetery management.
  • A numbered receipt is issued for every payment received.
  • A portion of every burial fee goes to the Permanent Maintenance Fund (Waqf) that keeps the grounds cared for.
  • Fees are reviewed periodically to reflect operating costs, and any change is communicated to the community in advance.
  • Convenient payment options are provided by the office.

Burial rights, reburial & exhumation

  • Burial rights grant a family the exclusive use of a specific burial space — they do not confer ownership of the land.
  • Each grave carries a unique plot number recorded against the deceased and the family.
  • Bodies exhumed from other locations or cemeteries are not accepted for reburial here.
  • Exhumation of a body buried at the cemetery is prohibited unless there is a valid court order, and is then carried out with the utmost respect under supervision.

Official service fees

Prices are set by the Cemetery Committee. Fee waivers may be granted for families in genuine need.

Missing a document? Start the booking anyway — an officer will guide you on what remains, so the burial is not delayed.
